Student Transportation

The Board of Education is authorized to purchase, repair, and maintain motor vehicles and other equipment for the purpose of transporting students to and from schools.  The Board may contract such services, also.  It shall be the policy of the Board of Education to provide transportation for all students who reside one mile or more from the school to which they are assigned.  All such vehicles, as employed by the Board for student transportation, shall conform to a minimum standard established by the state Board of Education.  They shall, as a minimum, be insured for both liability and death resulting from an accident or collision involving said vehicle, and shall be operated by an individual who meets minimum standards of the state Board of Education and the local Board of Education.
