Board Policy
Descriptor Code: IFCB
Field Trips and Excursions
Print Policy

All school sponsored overnight fieldtrips must be approved by the building level principal and then submitted to the superintendent or designee for final approval. Approved trips will be made available for Board review.

Elementary school students (K-5) are prohibited from participation in overnight fieldtrips. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.

Middle school students may not exceed one overnight fieldtrip per school year/grade level with the exception of participation in competitions, performances, and leadership opportunities.

High school students are limited to overnight fieldtrips to participate in competitions, performances, and leadership opportunities.

In all cases, overnight fieldtrips should be carefully scheduled to minimize student and teacher absences.
